Casement Window Restoration

This casement window project was a relatively quick restoration, but an important one—it marked the beginning of Burch Historic Restoration becoming my full-time work rather than something I built on the side.

The work focused on getting the existing windows functioning properly again through careful assessment, fitting, and repair rather than unnecessary replacement. It was a straightforward example of the approach that continues to guide the business today: understand why the original window is failing, preserve what is still sound, and make deliberate repairs that allow it to keep doing its job. What was a small project became the starting point for a much larger commitment to this craft.
